Hi, I'm Mr. Perkins!
Welcome! I teach Computer Science & Digital Literacy to every student in grades 6, 7, and 8 at Robert Adams Middle School. My goal is to make sure every student leaves middle school feeling confident with technology — not just as a user, but as a creator, a problem solver, and a thoughtful digital citizen.
My classroom is hands-on. We code, we build, we break things on purpose to see how they work, and we share what we make. I love seeing students go from "I'm not a computer person" in September to designing their own games, apps, and AI projects by the end of the year.
Outside of class, I help with technology projects across the building and enjoy exploring new tools that I can bring back to students — everything from virtual reality to AI assistants.
Getting in Touch
The best way to reach me is email. I check it throughout the school day and do my best to respond within 24 hours on weekdays.

What to Expect in My Class
Project-Based Learning
Most units end with a project students design themselves — a game, a website, an app, or an AI experiment.
Lots of Discussion
We talk about how technology is shaping our lives — from social media to AI to cybersecurity.
Computational Thinking
Even when we're not coding, we're learning to break problems down, find patterns, and design solutions.
A Welcoming Room
Every student belongs in CS. No prior experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try.
